Catalpa tree.

I looked outside this evening about 8:30 and I noticed the following flower

and it struck me that I should step outside and take a few snapshots. As I was walking about outside I walked past the catalpa tree I planted years ago and noticed it was flowering.

I never paid attention to the flower before. It’s amazing what you pay attention to when you have a camera in your hand. On a side note, I want need new lenses. A friend suggested the following lenses, listed in order of importance.

Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G Lens
Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G Lens
Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G Lens

Does it matter?

I’ve discovered (more than once) writing a blog or journal (if you prefer the offline version) is much like the concept of owning a kitten or puppy. EVERYONE wants one! They are so cute, you’ve all seen the pictures. Puppies and kittens frolicking around looking all cute and you think “hey, I should get one”. And it’s all fun and games until you realize the amount of work that is involved.

What you don’t see is the house training, litter training, and cleaning up of messes. Everyone wants the cute, the nice, the playing… no one wants the work.

And that’s where I fall in with journaling.

Latest hobby

Hard to believe it’s been two years since I’ve posted anything. Not that there hasn’t been things going on… So once again, I come back to this and avow that I will do more, post more, cover more, and 3 years from now, I’ll post again. For now though, my latest hobby.

I’ve always had an interest in photography, that interest was only spiked by the appearance of a pileated woodpecker.
